Bob has over 30 years of experience in the commercial aviation industry.  Bob is a strong leader with an impressive track record of team building and business development. Prior to co-founding volofin, he served as a Portfolio Manager at Magnetar Capital LLC, responsible for aviation investment activities.  Prior to joining Magnetar, he served as Chief Investment Officer, and a member of the Executive Committee, of Aircastle Limited (NYSE: AYR), where he was responsible for all investment activities, including management of the marketing and investment teams. Prior to joining Aircastle, he spent seven years at Guggenheim Partners, starting as co-founder and Managing Director of Guggenheim Aviation Partners, where he launched two investment funds, completed several financings and structured and executed a complex portfolio sale transaction. During his last two years at Guggenheim, he was head of the Aviation Capital Markets Group, where he was responsible for all trading of Aircraft ABS, EETC, airline debt securities, and investment banking activities in the aviation sector.  Bob began his aviation career at Bank of Montreal, where he led the bank’s transportation and aerospace group. His experience also includes executive positions with Residual Based Finance Corporation, AAR Corporation (NYSE: AIR), and Southern Air Transport.  Bob has significant international business experience and has served on the board of several private and public companies. Bob earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in accounting, from Bradley University, and completed MBA coursework at Northwestern University’s Executive Master Program.
