Stewart has over 23 years of banking experience with 18 years specializing in aircraft and engine-backed financings in the commercial aviation market.  Stewart is a senior aviation and banking executive with significant experience structuring aircraft and engine-backed financing transactions, and a particular focus on mid-life and end-of-life aircraft commercial aircraft. Prior to co-founding volofin, he worked at Erste Group Bank’s London office from 2000 through 2018, most recently serving as Managing Director and Deputy Head of Aerospace Finance. During his tenure at Erste Group Bank, he financed over $1.5 billion of aircraft acquisitions for a broad client base, involving a wide range of aircraft types and numerous jurisdictions. In 2008, Stewart was instrumental in establishing a captive lease company, where he negotiated aircraft purchases, managed underlying leases and oversaw the redelivery of a large number of aircraft over a 10-year period. He has established strong relationships with a large number of investors, lessors and  airlines, and developed significant operational and technical knowledge.  Stewart started his career in 1983 with NatWest Bank where he was focused on credit based transactions ,and in 1995 joined the London office of Norinchukin, Bank (Japan) responsible  for building their UK lending book and in doing so, commenced his aerospace finance experience. Stewart hold s a UK PPL (A) private pilots license.
